Winter Park Axes Reservation Requirement After 2pm
Updated:
October 13, 2024
Winter Park hasannouncedthat it will no longer require reservations to access the resort any day after 2pm. The resort will continue to require advanced reservations on all days at earlier times.
Winter Park normally offers unrestricted access to ticket and passholders, but the resort implemented access reservations this year to limit capacity in the wake of COVID-19-related social distancing measures and followinghorrendous early-season lift lines.Prior to December, Winter Park was the only major Colorado Front Range destination resort with no access restrictions.
Our Take
Among resorts with access restrictions this season, Winter Park is the first we’ve seen to abolish late-afternoon reservations. While this policy change likely won’t affect vacationers spending hundreds on full-day access, it will be great for locals who might just want to stop by the resort for a few runs at the end of the day. Slopes are rarely crowded during this time of day, and we think other mountains may want to take a page from Winter Park here.
