Ratings Adjustment: Snow King Snow Score
Updated:
October 13, 2024
Here at PeakRankings, we aim to provide the most helpful and transparent content we can. That being said, we’re always iterating on our methodology and decided to change the snow score for a small Wyoming resort this week.
We’ve decided to upgradeSnow King’s snow score from a 6 to a 7. This mountain may not see all that much accumulation each winter, but it receives substantially lighter snow than every other mountain that previously had the same rating, all of which were on the East Coast or in the Pacific Northwest. Snow King also sits at a much higher elevation than most resorts in those aforementioned regions, resulting in better snow retention. These traits result in clear snow quality advantages that weren’t adequately reflected in our existing score criteria.
With these adjustments, Snow King remainsranked 23rd in the Rockies, but jumps toa tie for 43rd overall.
