Killington Discontinues Weekday Parking Reservations

Thanks to low weekday traffic and sufficient on-mountain capacity, Killington hashalted its parking reservation policy on weekdays.The resort says it will continue to use parking reservations to manage crowds on weekdays and holidays, such as upcoming MLK Day.
This policy change will go into effect on Tuesday, January 19; however, the resort says it may reinstate weekday parking reservations if capacity concerns require it. In its statement, Killington specifically calls out spring as a time when weekday parking restrictions may go back in place.
Killington normally offers unrestricted access to ticket and passholders, but the resort implemented parking reservations this year to limit capacity due to COVID-19. In December, the resortinstituted a strict cancellation policy.
Our Take
While guest safety this season is undoubtedly the number one priority across ski resorts, it looks like Killington recognizes that the resort remains safe on weekdays even without capacity restrictions. Given this circumstance, we imagine weekday guests will be glad to save the few minutes taking this extra online step to access the mountain. Killington receives solid snow for Vermont and boasts strong snowmaking, and we imagine both of these traits have helped the mountain open enough terrain to make this policy change.
One passing remark—it seems that at least for now,it’s still possibleto make weekday reservations through the portal. We imagine these just won’t mean anything for the foreseeable future, although those hoping to visit Killington in the spring may benefit from nabbing a spot given the mountain may reinstate restrictions.
