Arapahoe Basin Lifts Remaining COVID Restrictions as Summit County Moves to Level Green

Updated:

October 13, 2024

With the COVID-19 risk level in Summit Countydropping to Level Green,Colorado’s Arapahoe Basin has lifted nearly all of its remaining COVID restrictions, says COO Al Henceroth.Guests will no longer be required to wear masks outside, and the resort will no longer enforce lift and parking capacity restrictions. Masks will still be required inside except when seated and eating or drinking.

Henceroth also says that beach reservations will open up soon (the reservation system here is not specific to COVID times).

Our Take

As vaccinations proceed throughout the US, this move is perhaps the strongest signal that things are on track to return to normal next winter. While most resorts have closed for the season at this point, and the few others still open may not proactively lift restrictions with so little time left in the season, it’s easy to envision the total abolition of COVID-related distancing and capacity mandates next winter if the risk remains low.
